Steam Beer
California Common
Before modern refrigeration brewing lagers was not all that easy. But the San Francisco Lager yeast seemed to ferment well at higher temperatures. Folks also thought they saw steam rising up from the fermenting vessels at night, but that is neither here nor there. We just call it a hybrid between a lager and an ale with toasty caramel notes. Tastes like a lager, full like an ale!
